About Original 26/2 Yoga

Original 26/2 Yoga is a challenging 90 minute yoga class practiced in a heated room consisting of 26 postures (asanas) each performed twice in sequential order. The heat warms up your entire body and allows you to work safer and deeper into your muscles, tendons, and ligaments. This yoga practice works on the principles of maximum compression, extension, and relaxation in every pose to create optimal health.

Original 26/2 Yoga Yoga is a process that can reduce or eliminate the symptoms of many aliments and is an excellent preventive activity for parts of the body that are healthy.

The class is designed for all levels -- beginners and experienced practitioners alike.

In time, you learn to focus your mind and control your breath, leading you to work harder, deeper, yet calmer. As you improve this relationship, you will realize the true meaning of yoga: A union of the body and mind.

Original 26/2 Yoga increases flexibility, strength, and balance within the body. It improves circulation and reduces stress, to provide an infinite number of benefits. It is an excellent exercise, health and wellness program that allows you to achieve a better quality of life.

All you need to do is approach each posture correctly and go to your "personal edge" to obtain 100% of the benefits.

Your Progress

How quickly you progress will depend entirely on you -- upon your natural ability to a small extent, but mostly upon the time and effort you give to Yoga. It will have little to do with how "perfectly" you can do the poses.

Few of us ever do the poses "perfectly". Instead, it will have to do with how well you understand what you are trying to accomplish in each pose, how you try to accomplish your goal, and how supple your muscles and joints have become in comparison to the point at which you began. In Yoga there is no standard of comparison except within yourself. To be "Perfect" in Yoga is to do the best you can do.

Original 26/2 Yoga teaches you not only the ideal pose - how you will eventually be able to do it - but also the reality - telling you what problems you will have as you try to do the pose, what clues will help you make rapid progress, and where you might be tempted to "cheat", thus depriving yourself of the benefit of doing the pose properly.
